The Psalms have always been a source of encouragement and blessing for my soul. Recently I have taken to daily documenting my meditations in the Psalm in my morning devotions. Below is an excerpt of my meditations in Psalms. The words of scripture are highlighted in italics. These are my thoughts on how the word of God speaks to my heart. I publish them here for your benefit. May God bless your heart as you read through His word.
Psalm 16
“Preserve me, O God, for I take refuge in Thee. I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; I have no good besides You.” How shall I stand if not for the LORD? How shall we exist if not in Christ? Thou O God are my God, and I have none beside you. I hunger and thirst for you and your presence. I desire your fullness in my life. You have dealt wonderfully with me and have forgiven all my sins. You have blessed me with salvation, and you have blessed me with good things.
You have revealed to me the sinfulness of my past. You took false worship and religion from me. You have washed me in Jesus’s blood and poured out your Holy Spirit upon me. What more could I possibly want?
“I will bless the LORD who has counseled me; indeed, my mind instructs me in the night.” Precious Lord, how many times in the night have you come to me and spoken to my heart your truths? How many times have I felt your presence in the night as you wake me to go into prayer and worship you? You are indeed my counselor, my wisdom, and my song.
“I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore, my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely.” My heart is only happy before you. When I am in the right fellowship with you. I rejoice and have peace in my heart and soul. Your presence guides me in the night season. Through the trial, you are there and have given me wisdom. You are my God, and I will always praise you. Every night, I sleep in peace because of you. “Every perfect gift comes down from the father of lights in who there is no variableness.” Lord, let me not take for granted the simple things in life that are blessings from your abundant hand of grace.
“Thou wilt make known to me the path of life; In Thy presence is fullness of joy; In Thy right hand there are pleasures forever.” Father, you have shown me your Son Jesus Christ and have revealed to me the path of life. I dwell under the shadow of the Almighty. Your presence is my joy. The psalmist says, “Delight Thyself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” You are my desire, Lord. You are my joy, O my God. Fill me with your presence. Bring forth the fullness of Thy presence in revival. Rise, O God, and let Thy Holy Spirit consume me. Fill me, dear God, so that I can be poured out to others.
Be glorified and exalted in me and through me. That all the glory would go to you. Soli Deo Gloria!

I love pslams 16 it shows how much David trust in the Lord . One thing I don’t really understand is: it says “trust in the Lord and He will give you the desires to your heart “
But isn’t the heart deceitful?
Pastor Mark says
Simply put, if one trusts in the Lord and desires the Lord, then the Lord is the desire of the heart—not selfish things but God Himself.

Thank you Pastor Mark for sharing intimate and personal thoughts as u study and spend devotional time in the book of Psalms It is indeed generous of you to invite us into your heart and thought process as u meditate in God’s living Word. God reveals Himself consistent with our individual needs and the unique and specific needs of our hearts. While reading your thoughts, we are undoubtedly formulating thoughts of our own thru the lenses of our own experiences. Thank you for yet another opportunity to spiritually grow, in our private prayer space and devotional time. It’s always a blessing to always walk and talk with God. I am lifted, encouraged, fortified and humbled to bow before His throne.
